WALDEN MACHT & HARAN ELECTS DANIEL CHIRLIN TO PARTNER

NEW YORK (January 3, 2024)

Walden Macht & Haran LLP (WMH), one of the nation’s elite white-collar criminal defense and civil litigation firms, announced today that Daniel Chirlin has been elevated to partner.

“For more than a decade, I’ve worked with Dan on some of the most exciting and challenging cases of my career,” said Jim Walden, managing partner of WMH.  “I know him to be a fantastic and creative lawyer, capable of handling the most complex matters.  I’m immensely proud to have him as my Partner.”

Dan has developed a strong commercial litigation and arbitration practice, including many disputes within the financial services industry.  In particular, he has represented private equity, venture capital, and hedge fund clients in criminal, civil, and regulatory matters.  Dan has also spent several years working closely with a major financial institution handling its regulatory matters involving futures and derivatives products.  Dan also played a leadership role in conducting a monitorship of a major international bank for the New York Department of Financial Services.

In the past few years, Dan has taken a lead role in helping WMH expand its sports practice.  In particular, he has helped WMH client Madison Square Garden achieve several legal victories, including navigating through a tampering investigation for the Knicks and earning a dismissal of claims brought by ticket brokers.

Dan was recently recognized by The American Lawyer’s Litigator of the Week Shoutout and Euromoney Legal Media Group with America’s Rising Star Award and Best in Litigation: General Commercial.  He is a graduate of Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, after earning a bachelor’s degree with honors, graduating cum laude from Cornell University.
