WMH Files Application in People of the State of New York v. Donald J. Trump
Today, Walden Macht & Haran LLP filed an application in People of the State of New York v. Donald J. Trump on behalf of Common Cause and New York Focus. The application asks the court to publish daily transcripts of the proceedings to ensure broad public access to the trial.
Most of the nation has only one source to understand these historic proceedings: the media. However, the media itself has been attacked as unreliable by those on both the left and the right. Transcripts would offer the public an unvarnished account without editorialization or the perception of bias, which, under the circumstances, is crucial for meaningful access and to maintain public confidence in the system.
