WMH Client New York Knicks Oppose Toronto Raptors’ Motion to Compel Arbitration

In a recent NY federal court filing, WMH, on behalf of the New York Knicks, argued that the NBA Commissioner should not arbitrate the Knicks’ dispute with the Toronto Raptors over the misappropriation of trade secrets and proprietary information.

Among other things, the Knicks argued that the NBA Constitution’s arbitration provision does not cover the alleged misconduct and that the Commissioner’s close relationship with Toronto Raptors’ chairman creates an impermissible appearance of bias.
