Walden Macht & Haran LLP is a boutique litigation firm in New York City that was launched in 2015 by former federal prosecutors. Within two years, WMH has already tripled in size and has built a thriving litigation, defense, and investigations practice by delivering creative, thoughtful, diligent, and aggressive legal services to institutional and individual clients facing complex, high-stakes problems. The Firm’s practice focuses on white collar defense and investigations, monitorships, corporate compliance advice, and various civil disputes. The Firm is committed to pro bono service, particularly in Good Government and civil rights matters.
Our lawyers regularly appear in the New York state and federal courts. We represent, or have recently represented, clients in inquiries and enforcement actions brought by the U.S. Department of Justice, various U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York Attorney General’s Office, the Federal Reserve Board, FINRA, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, and the New York Department of Financial Services. The Firm has already handled numerous cross-border matters involving clients around the globe and across the United States.
WMH is actively considering applications for one or more junior and mid-level associate positions. Applicants should have exemplary academic credentials and 1–4 years of experience working in an elite litigation department or government office, preferably handling white collar, regulatory defense, investigations, or complex civil matters. We especially value judicial clerkship experience. Currently, WMH is building in the following practice areas: cybersecurity/data privacy; AML/BSA and anti-corruption; accounting/securities fraud; media/communications; and antitrust. Because the Firm regularly has matters with an international dimension, the Firm values business fluency in other languages (particularly Mandarin) and experience in international law issues (e.g., foreign data privacy rules, extradition, extraterritorial jurisdiction, MLATs, and foreign regulatory agencies).
WMH encourages and expects its associates to develop their skills and subject-matter expertise by taking significant responsibility for their matters, including in leadership and first-chair roles. Successful applicants will be highly-motivated and proven problem-solvers, who exhibit the highest level of personal integrity, team-work, and ethical practice.
Applications consisting of a cover letter, résumé, law school transcript, and original writing sample should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their materials as soon as possible. Walden Macht & Haran LLP is an equal opportunity employer. The Firm values military experience and encourages veterans to apply.
